What am I going to do?
Read the idea, learn the key combination and answer a question about when it would help.
What will I learn?
Know when and how to reach everyday controls.
Small adjustments, such as lowering the sound or checking your wireless connection, should not interrupt what you are doing. A compact group of everyday controls can save a trip through the full Settings app.

Windows+A
Key names are shown separately, not as a keyboard layout. A + between key boxes means combine them. A box named Plus means the actual Plus key. Follow the steps below for alternatives.
1How to use it
Hold the Windows logo key, press A once, then release both. Quick Settings opens near the taskbar. To change volume, move the pointer onto the volume slider, hold the left mouse button, drag a little, then release. Press Escape to dismiss the panel.
2What to watch for
The controls vary by device. A desktop monitor may need its own buttons for brightness. Read each label before changing a setting: switching off Wi-Fi can disconnect an internet call. This is a control panel, not a list of messages.
You can learn this shortcut without pressing it here. The real keys act on your computer or the app you are using.
CHOOSE THE USEFUL ACTION
When would you use it?
A video you are watching is too loud. You want a quick adjustment while leaving it open. Which use fits?
Reach the volume control without leaving the video.
