What will I learn?
Know when and how to prepare a printed copy.
Sometimes you need information on paper, such as directions to take with you. Preparing a printed copy lets you check which pages will be included before using paper and ink.

Ctrl+P
Key names are shown separately, not as a keyboard layout. A + between key boxes means combine them. A box named Plus means the actual Plus key. Follow the steps below for alternatives.
1How to use it
With your document or webpage open, hold Ctrl, tap P once, then release both keys. A print screen normally opens. Read the preview, check the selected printer and number of copies, then click Print once when everything is right.
2What to watch for
Opening this screen usually does not print immediately. Click Cancel once to leave without printing. A choice such as Microsoft Print to PDF creates a file instead of paper. Only print private information to a printer you trust, and check the preview for unwanted extra pages.
You can learn this shortcut without pressing it here. The real keys act on your computer or the app you are using.
CHOOSE THE USEFUL ACTION
When would you use it?
You want to take a recipe into the kitchen without your laptop. What should you do before sending it to a printer?
Open the print screen and check the pages and destination.
