Alt+Enter
Key names are shown separately, not as a keyboard layout. A + between key boxes means combine them. A box named Plus means the actual Plus key. Follow the steps below for alternatives.
1How to use it
Click a file once in File Explorer to select it. Hold Alt, press Enter, then release both. Its Properties window opens. Read the information, then click Cancel or the top-right X to close without making changes.
2What to watch for
This shortcut applies to selected files and folders in File Explorer. It behaves differently in some other apps. A file’s name or type alone does not prove it is safe to open.
You can learn this shortcut without pressing it here. The real keys act on your computer or the app you are using.
CHOOSE THE USEFUL ACTION
When would you use it?
You want to check how much space a file uses before attaching it to a message. Which action fits?
Inspect that file’s properties.
