What will I learn?
Know when and how to jump to the beginning or end.
Long documents can take a lot of scrolling. Going straight to the beginning or end is useful when you need the introduction, a final note or space to add something after the existing text.

The keys and what happens
Where it works Many documents and text editors; often webpages too
Ctrl+HomeorEnd
Key names are shown separately, not as a keyboard layout. A + between key boxes means combine them. A box named Plus means the actual Plus key. Follow the steps below for alternatives.
1How to use it
Click once inside the document you are working with. Hold Ctrl, tap Home once and release both keys to move to the beginning. Hold Ctrl, tap End once and release both keys to move to the end. In an editor, watch the thin typing cursor to see where new text would go.
2What to watch for
Home and End without Ctrl usually move within the current line in text editors. In a browser these combinations often move the page view instead. A small text box may be the target if it has focus. Some laptop keyboards need Fn to access Home or End; check the labels on your keyboard.
You can learn this shortcut without pressing it here. The real keys act on your computer or the app you are using.
CHOOSE THE USEFUL ACTION
When would you use it?
You are halfway through a long letter in a text editor and want to add a final sentence after everything already written. Which movement helps?
