Keep a website address for later: Ctrl + D
When this helps
Read the idea, learn the key combination and answer a question about when it would help.
Know when and how to keep a website address for later.
A bookmark keeps a website address so you can return later without remembering or searching for it. Edge calls bookmarks favourites. Keeping an address is different from downloading the page's contents.

The keys and what happens
Where it works Microsoft Edge on Windows. These shortcuts also work in Chrome; other apps may behave differently.
Key names are shown separately, not as a keyboard layout. A + between key boxes means combine them. A box named Plus means the actual Plus key. Follow the steps below for alternatives.
How to use it
While the page you want is active, hold Ctrl, tap D once, then release both keys. A favourite or bookmark box opens. Read its name and chosen folder. To change the label, click the name field once, hold Ctrl and tap A, release both, then type the replacement name. Click Done once to finish in Edge or Chrome.
What to watch for
The address may already be added when the box appears; simply closing that box is not always cancellation. If you did not want it, use its Remove control, if shown, or remove the entry from the browser's Favourites or Bookmarks menu. To return to a saved site in Edge, click the three dots (Settings and more) at the top right, click Favourites, then click the saved entry once. If you saved it inside a folder, click that folder first. A bookmark is not an offline copy and does not keep a website from changing.
